Delay in Retrieving Your Jobs

  • What does this mean? – This message alerts you to the fact that one or all of our servers are having trouble sending you job information.  This message may occur if there is a problem with either Frontline Education’s Absence and Substitute Management (formerly Aesop) server or with your login information.
  • How do I fix it?  First, go to our website, www.jobulator.com, and login to the “My Account” page.  Make sure that you are active in at least one school district using Jobulator by reviewing the districts listed on that page.  If you do not have any districts listed under the “My Account” page, Jobulator will display this error message.  This means that either Jobulator has been turned off in your district or that you are not currently active in the district.  Please check the status of your Absence Management account to verify that you are an active substitute in your district.  If your Absence Management account is active or if you do have a district listed on the My Account page please contact us through our web form: http://help.jobulator.com/contact-us/.  We will be sure to let you know as soon as we have the issue resolved for you.

Details Can’t Be Retrieved

  • What does this mean?  If you click the “details” button to find out more information about a particular job, this message may appear to let you know that the job is no longer available. Between the time that your Jobulator notified you and the time that you clicked the details button one of two things happened: 1.) Another sub accepted that job or 2.) The teacher or administrator is editing the job.
  • How do I fix it? – There isn’t much that can be done for this one. Jobulator, Absence Management online, and Absence Management phone are three highways leading to the city of available jobs. In this case, someone else accepted the job just moments before. One setting that you can look into is your refresh interval. Click on the Settings tab on Jobulator. Near the bottom of the General tab you will find the “Refresh Interval” setting. Make sure it is set to one minute and then click the “Save Settings” button. That will ensure that Jobulator will be checking your Absence Management account for new jobs as often as possible.

Already Filled

  • What does this mean? – If you enter your PIN and then click the “Accept” button to accept a particular job, this message may appear to let you know that the job is no longer available.  Between the time that you click the “Details” button and the time that you clicked “Accept” another substitute accepted the job.

Unable to Assign You

  • What does this mean? – If you enter your PIN and then click the “Accept” button to accept a particular job, this message may appear to let you know that the job is no longer available.  Between the time that you click the “Details” button and the time that you clicked “Accept” this job was either deleted or edited by the teacher or administrator.
  • How do I fix it? – There isn’t much that can be done for this one.  In this case, the state of the job has been changed to a state where it cannot be accepted (it is either being edited or was deleted).  If the job is currently being edited it will reappear on Jobulator once the teacher or administrator saves the changes.  Try automatically refreshing your Jobulator by clicking the “Refresh” button.  The job will likely disappear.  If it reappears it should be ready for you to accept.

Entered an Invalid PIN

  • What does this mean? – This message means that you have incorrectly entered your pin number into the system.
  • How do I fix it? – First, simply retry your PIN. If you are unsuccessful again, try to login to your Absence Management account at www.FrontlineK12.com/Aesop. If you are able to login it is likely that your account is active. If you are not able to login please contact your Absence Management administrator regarding the status of your Absence Management account. Since we use your Absence Management pin to activate the program, Jobulator will say your login information is invalid if your Absence Management account is not active.
  • What if that does not resolve the issue? – If your PIN worked in the Absence Management system or if you continue to have trouble with this please contact us through our web form: http://help.jobulator.com/contact-us/.

System Maintenance

  • What does this mean? – This message typically means that the development teams are doing some work on the Absence Management feature, Jobulator, or both programs.  The service should be restored in a few hours.
  • How do I fix it? – While there isn’t much that can be done while Jobulator is in the maintenance mode, it is always a good idea to close and reopen your program after a maintenance period.

Can’t Connect Error

  • What does this mean? – This message alerts you to the fact that something about your computer or programs is preventing Jobulator from communicating with our servers. This is most often caused by one of three things: a lack of internet connection, your computer going to “sleep,” or a firewall, malware, or anti-virus software program blocking Jobulator from communicating with an outside server.
  • How do I fix it? – First, test your internet connection. Make sure that you can navigate to an internet website such as www.jobulator.com. If you are unable to reach the website, there is a problem with your internet connection. Make sure your computer is connected to the internet. Next, check your sleep settings. For those unfamiliar with the computer term “sleep,” it is the term used to refer to when your computer turns off most of the way and you have to shake your mouse to “wake” it back up. When you computer goes into sleep mode it also turns off most of the computers processes. Computer sleep severs the internet connection in order to save power. This may also make the widget display the “Cannot Connect to the Internet” message when you “wake up” your computer. Jobulator will begin to reconnect with the servers once you “wake” your computer. Acknowledge the “Can’t Connect” message by clicking the “OK” button.
  • If you would like to prevent your computer from going to sleep follow these instructions…

PC

  1. Click Start in the Lower left-hand corner of your screen and choose “Control Panel” from menu.
  2. Open you Power Options in the Control Panel.
  3. Click the “Change Plan Settings” link corresponding to your Power Plan.
  4. There you can change your Computer Sleep settings.
  5. Apply the change by clicking the Save Changes button.

MAC

  1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left-hand corner of your screen and select “System Preferences” from the menu.
  2. Select “Energy Saver” under the Hardware section.
  3. There you can change your Computer Sleep settings.

If Jobulator does not connect after this reattempt it is likely that you have a Firewall, Malware or Anti-Virus program blocking Jobulator from communicating with our servers. Often, computer protection programs like Norton’s, McAfee, Webroot, and even Windows Firewall prevent communication between computers through the internet in an attempt to protect your computer. Often these programs have the option to create permissions, create exceptions, or to allow communication in, out, or both directions. Jobulator needs the communication to go both directions. As such, each of your protection programs will need to have a rule set up for Jobulator. Once these exceptions are setup, close you widget by right clicking (Mac – holding control on keyboard and clicking) on the program and choosing “Close Jobulator” from the menu. The issue should then be resolved.

Inactive User Error

  • What does this mean? – This message alerts you to the fact that the email address and PIN combination that you are entering to activate your Jobulator is either not correct or not active.
  • How do I fix it? – Please double check that you are using the correct email address and PIN. You can test your PIN number by logging into the Absence Management homepage (www.FrontlineK12.com/Aesop). If you are able to login it is likely that your account is active. If you are not able to login please contact your Absence Management administrator regarding the status of your Absence Management account. Since we use your Absence Management pin to activate the program, Jobulator will say your login information is invalid if your Absence Management account is not active.
